TURKEY SHOOT 2008

Eighteen shooters showed up on a cold and windy day to shoot for one of the four 20 pound birds. The scores weren’t anything that would make a trap Hall of Fame but Dale [I can fix any gun] Brassch, Lefty Ed Blandin, Walter, the trap chairman, and Joe the dinner hunter, McLoughlin were the eventual winners because the rest of us shot like we were vegetarians. Many thanks to Paul Clark [not the car dealer] for doing all the work to set up the competition.

2008 Swap Meet

On July 13th 2008 Standish Sportsman’s Association sponsored a swap meet at the club house. Our members and some of their friends brought their extra stuff to the swap meet to have some fun and social time and to try to sell some of their things. Lunch and breakfast was served (by our amazing kitchen crew) and we all enjoyed the beautiful day.

Gas Can Shoot 2008

We all had a great time at our first annual gas shoot. The sun came out as 16 shooters competed. Thanks to Lorna and Mike for a great breakfast. The wobble formant turned out to be a good challenge to all, but 4 winners drove away with the gas. Congratulations to Dale Braach, Walther Potaznick, Bill Ewell and Ed Blandin. Bill and Ed shared top gun honors with 24 each!
