Standish Trap
The trap program is open to the public and runs every Sunday, rain, snow or shine EXCEPT for the days of the 3-D Archery Shoot (See link to 3-D Archery). We set up the speakers and shot curtains (see link for shot curtains) at 9:40 and start shooting at 10 AM. We usually end around noon or when all the shooters are done. We use a voice activated release system and standard Trap rules and regulations apply. We require shot no larger than #71/2 shot. (71/2-9) There is usually ammo available for sale. Cell phones are prohibited on the trap line and within the trap scoring area designated by the rail fence.
We encourage new and long retired trap shooters to join us. We are not an ATA program; we’re a group of trap shooters who want to have fun and maybe get a little better at trap shooting. Youngsters accompanied by member adults are always welcome (and shoot free). New shooters can count on club members to take you through the process of your first round in a safe and enjoyable manner.
The OFL is open to club members and their guests on Wednesdays from about noon on. The league is a group of older members who get together to shoot trap and pistol and to compare their experiences. If you’re interested in joining this group, contact Chuck Francis 508 378-7483 (clubhouse phone)
We have an optional “Lucky Target” program that helps support youth trap shooters at the club. One odd color clay is added to the mix and if you get it and hit it, you win the pool (up to $5.00 if all participate). You miss it and the money goes to the “free kids shooting fund. We also have a number of special shoots over the year including a Turkey Shoot, (around Thanksgiving), a Christmas shoot (prize to be announced) and a Ham Shoot around Easter time, (see Ham Shoot link on home page). Winners are determined by a combination of skill and just plain luck. Plan on these shoots the Sunday before the respective holiday. Watch the bulletin board and club notices on the web and in Goal for the exact dates.
Fees:
Members: $2.50 per round
Non-members $3.00 per round
Ammo: 12 and 20 gauges (when available and subject to change)) $5.00 per box
Lucky Target (optional) $1.00
